SaaS

Software as a service (SaaS, pronounced sæs or sɑs[1]), sometimes referred to as "on-demand software" supplied by ISVs or "Application-Service-Providers" (ASPs), [2] is a software delivery model[3] in which software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud. SaaS is typically accessed by users using a thin client via a web browser. SaaS has become a common delivery model for many business applications, including Office & Messaging software, DBMS software, Management software, CAD software, Development software, Virtualization ,[4]accounting, collaboration, customer relationship management (CRM), management information systems (MIS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), invoicing, human resource management (HRM), content management (CM) and service desk management.[5] SaaS has been incorporated into the strategy of all leading enterprise software companies.[6] One of the biggest selling points for these companies is the potential to reduce IT support costs by outsourcing hardware and software maintenance and support to the SaaS provider.[7]

SIP

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling communications protocol, widely used for controlling multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls over Internet Protocol (IP) networks.

The protocol defines the messages that are sent between peers which govern establishment, termination and other essential elements of a call. SIP can be used for creating, modifying and terminating two-party (unicast) or multiparty (multicast) sessions consisting of one or several media streams. Other SIP applications include video conferencing, streaming multimedia distribution, instant messaging, presence information, file transfer, fax over IP and online games.

SIP is a tool not an end all solution for all voice connectivity. Contrary to what you may have heard SIP calls are not free. No one makes a living and no company makes a profit offering free services. SIP services large learning curve for the provider. An inexperienced SIP provider will make your daily communications a mess. A new SIP provider can ground your business to a stop. Many of today’s carriers are using soft switches and they have some of the same issues that you can experience on your personal computers. Before going to the Internet and picking the SIP provider with the biggest tall tale on his website give us a call and we will find you the most reliable providers.
